De Warenne Academy

At De Warenne Academy we have high aspirations for our students and want them to aspire to great success. Every student matters to us and each student is treated as a unique individual so that they enjoy learning and make excellent progress. Our students take great pride in their appearance and are the smartest of any that you will see.

In June 2011 we were delighted that OFSTED acknowledged our successes and judged the academy to be making good progress, the highest rating that they could award. Following this inspection, in the summer we celebrated our best ever results making us one of the most improved schools in South Yorkshire. The percentage of students gaining 5 or more A*-C including both English and Maths has risen by 17% in the last two years and the percentage of students gaining the equivalent of 5 or more A*-C has more than doubled. 17% of the grades attained this year were at A* or A.

Next year sees the construction of a state-of-the-art brand new building. Planning permission has now been granted and work starts in January 2012. It is a one year project and we look forward to moving into it early in 2013.
