In September 170 students from Y9-13 experienced the Medical Maverick Roadshow. This involved them taking part in numerous practical tasks to complete a health check on themselves. These included; key hole surgery, ECG scan, retina scan, reflex test, blood pressure check, taking blood and wearing glasses to experience what life was like for individuals with certain health conditions. Clear links were made through each task as to which of the vast amount of jobs or courses at University these could link them to in the future. Mrs Shires says " It was clear to see that some of the future NHS staff were in the room"
