Members of the Inspirational Learning Group came in to deliver the 2018 National Enterprise Challenge to all Year 8 pupils at De Warenne Academy last Friday. Their task was created by Ryman, the well-known high street stationers. Pupils were asked to design mascots for the company. Activities included creating a storyboard, naming the mascots, making a poster and also making a short advert.
Andy Turton, Head of Post 16 and Careers provision said “The pupils developed many skills throughout the day, such as teamwork, initiative, tenacity and resilience. The majority definitely improved their confidence as they had to pitch their ideas to judges and the whole of the year group. This was a great enrichment activity which the pupils thoroughly enjoyed”.
The winning group will represent De Warenne Academy next July at Wembley stadium against thousands of other pupils from around the country.
The winners were: From left to right from the picture, Kia Lenton, Scarlett Mee, Jacob Devaney, Harvey O'Neill
