Young Voices 2015

10th February 2015

In January the De Warenne choir took part in this year's 'Young Voices' at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield where they performed  alongside thousands of young singers and celebrity artists. The singing was led by world renowned conductor David Lawrence, supported by a very talented live band.  Students sang a  variety of pieces of music, ranging from songs from the musicals to classical works. They particularly enjoyed 'When I Grow Up' from Matilda, and the much anticipated Pop Medley. One of the highlights was singing alongside 'X Factor' contestent Lucy Spraggen, who sang quirky renditions of recent hits and songs from her new album. As well as platforming their singing skills, our students had  the opportunity to learn exciting dance routines with famous dance ensemble 'Urban Strides'. Their street dance style was awe-inspiring and captivated our young singers. It was an incredibly exhausting day, but it was an experience our students will remember for many years.
