Police Message

20th June 2013

We have received the notice below from South Yorkshire Police. Please share this information within it with your child.

Dear Parent / Carer,

I have written to all schools in Doncaster to raise awareness amongst parents, carers, teachers and pupils of a number of indecent assaults on schoolgirls within the local area.

We currently have several Detective Constables working on this case and they are being supported by our Neighbourhood Police Teams across the Doncaster area. In addition, we are working closely with the media to appeal for information and public assistance.

The incidents have taken place at a number of different locations, all against girls between the ages of 11 and 15. It is vital to stress that the safety of children within school is NOT a worry to the police and schools maintain excellent standards of safety and security.

Two efit images have been produced of a suspect we believe may the same man and I have included them at the bottom of this letter.

I would ask that all children and young people are reminded by you that if they receive any unwanted attention, or they feel scared, worried or uncomfortable in the presence of a man they should remember:

Do not talk to adults they don’t knowTell a parent, carer or someone in authority as soon as possibleIf they are out of school and alone, return home as quickly and safely as possible

If any parents or children have any information relating to these offences they are requested to contact South Yorkshire Police on telephone number 101, quoting incident 852 of June 12th 2013.

Yours sincerely

PETER NORMAN

Superintendent
