Sporting triumph at the SPTA games

8th July 2014

De Warenne athletics prowess was on show again at the annual SPTA games held at the Keepmoat Athletics Stadium in Doncaster. A strong field was present with nine academies represented in both U13 and U15 catergories.

Throughout the day our athletes took part in a number of track and field events with some excellent results. Amongst the highlights were:

Daniel Newby 1st (200m)

Shannon Cox 1st (200m)

Emily Box 1st (100m)

Keenan Bulcroft 2nd (200m)

Callum Hirst 4th (800m)

Elisha Brown 2nd (long jump)

Kira Houghton 3rd (shot putt)

Callum Hirst 1st (speed bounce)

A number of strong finishes including students competing a year above their school year (Kai Bailey, Ellicia Shimwell, Mia Brown) plus success in the relay finals took our overall result to a fantastic 3rd place behind winners Garforth and Don Valley.

A breakdown of results per year group is:

U13 boys 3rd place

U13 girls 3rd place

U15 boys 2nd place

U15 girls 5th place

Well done to all the athletes who represented De Warenne
