Medieval Day 2013

14th February 2013

In February students in Y8 took a day off timetable to experience a day in Medieval life. Through a variety of workshops students were able to gain an understanding of what life would be like during the 12th century.

Through a cookery class some students made medieval style broth for students and staff to sample. Others took part in medieval dancing or showed their creative skills using calligraphy pens to recreate pieces of work by Geoffrey Chaucer. The circus skills workshop proved very popular and students were able to learn new skills such as how to juggle, spin plates and walk a tight rope. All these skills were proudly shown off to staff and students at the Medieval Banquet at the end of the day.
