Drama club wows the audience at CAST

29th April 2016

The De Warenne drama club took part in a performance of a play called "The Musicians" by Patrick Marber on the main stage at CAST on 21st April. This was as part of the National Theatre Connections Project. During the project, the students had a performance at the Academy where a director from the National Theatre gave them excellent feedback on their work. The drama club has students from year 7 to Year 13, who worked fantastically as a team to present a very well received performance. The performance was well received by the CAST audience who were very much enjoying the company's rendition of Pinball Wizard by The Who. The performance was complemented by the excellent skills of the drama clubs technical team who worked on sound (Student - Byron D) and lighting (Mr.Willis).

National Theatre Connections director Jane Fallowfield said of their home performance, "a really enjoyable production...there is a strong sense of fun in the performance and it is infectious to watch the joy in their performance"

The director of the drama club Mrs Hunt said "It was an amazing performance and a confidence booster for all the students involved, it is very gratifying to see our students performing on the stage of a professional theatre and receiving such a good reaction from the audience". The De Warenne Academy drama club are very much looking forward to their next performance which is coming soon.
