Castle Academy Arts 2013

19th July 2013

In July Mrs Bradley and a group of Year 5 students from Castle Academy took part in a three day art project with Miss Grain from De Warenne's art department. Students worked together to make a large scale banner depicting Conisbrough Castle using lots of different textiles techniques. Each student had an A4 photograph and piece of fabric which were fixed together at the end to create a beautiful patchwork jigsaw of the castle.

Students used fabric crayons, dyes, applique and hand embroidery techniques to create their own highly detailed and unique piece of the jigsaw puzzle which will be displayed on the wall in Castle Academy's hall for years to come. The artwork is truly inspiring, the level of work produced was incredible and all staff and students involved had a brilliant time working as a team to complete the project. Mrs Pollard and Miss Grain presented the completed artwork to the school during an assembly.
