Y11 Hospitality students host charity lunch

11th December 2015

The Year 11 GCSE Hospitality students have very been busy recently. As part of their Controlled Assessment they prepared, cooked and served a three course fundraising luncheon to a group of staff here at the academy.

Staff were greeted with non-alcoholic cocktails and  sat down to a menu of mini quiches, tomato soup or stuffed mushrooms for starters. Main courses of honey roast chicken, red lentil curry or potato, ham and cheese bake followed with desserts of  cheesecake, gooey chocolate fondants or pavlova. All students worked hard to produce a top class experience for their diners and a total of £130 was raised in memory of ex-student Chelsea Cartwright who sadly lost her fight with leukaemia in October.
